What to expect

This section outlines how booking works, what’s included in your service, and what happens next—so everything is clear, aligned, and handled smoothly from start to finish.

    • A deposit is required to secure your service date. Deposit amounts vary depending on the service booked.

    • A 2-hour minimum is required for moving and most labor-based services.

    • Deposits are non-refundable, but may be transferred to a new date if rescheduling is requested within the required notice window.

    • Final pricing is based on the actual time worked and scope of service provided.

    • Final payment is due upon completion of the move or before unloading if items are being delivered to a storage unit.

    • Some services, including long-distance moves, junk removal, and specialty services, may require review and a custom quote before confirmation.

  • Your base service typically includes:

    • Two professional movers

    • A box truck suitable for the size of your move or project

    • Loading and unloading of your items

    • Basic disassembly and reassembly of furniture
      (TVs can be taken down, but re-mounting is an additional service)

    • Basic protection of your belongings during transport using moving blankets and wrap

    • Standard tools and equipment needed to complete the job

    Not included unless arranged in advance:

    • Packing materials or specialty supplies

    • TV mounting or specialty installation services

    • Structural, electrical, or in-wall wiring work

    • Specialty crating or custom packaging (tv boxes, etc)

    • Disposing of items (can be included as additional service)

    • Moving hazardous, illegal, or prohibited items

    • After booking through our site or submitting a quote request, you can expect a call from our team within 24 hours to review and finalize the details of your service.

    • A quote will be provided and a link may be sent to collect any remaining information needed.

    • You’ll receive instructions on how to submit your deposit. Once the deposit is received, your service will be confirmed.

    • You’ll receive a reminder text the day before your service and an ETA update on the day of your move or appointment.

    • Our team will notify you of their estimated arrival time. Please allow a small arrival window to account for traffic or prior jobs.

    • All items should be packed, prepared, and ready to go unless packing services were scheduled in advance.

    • We’ll review the plan with you, get to work, and keep communication clear throughout the service.

    • A deposit is required to secure your service date and is non-refundable.

    • If you need to reschedule after 48 hours from the time of booking, a rescheduling (re-booking) fee will apply, as your original date has been blocked off and reserved.

    • Same-day cancellations or no-shows may be subject to additional charges due to reserved labor, equipment, and lost time.

    • If Key Moves needs to reschedule due to weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances, your deposit will be applied to the next available date.
